Marian Grems

Community Engagement

Marian Grems is no stranger to FTD.  As the former care partner for both her bv FTD husband, Rob, and son Jeff, she is filled with hope as her daughter Amanda navigates the genetic reality of a MAPT FTD diagnosis. Parents caring for adult children with FTD hold a special place in her heart. Over two decades ago, when her FTD journey began; support, research, and connection with other care partners was non-existent. After hosting an AFTD Meet and Greet in 2018, Marian has worked as  a support group volunteer, AFTD Education Conference break-out session speaker, and Food for Thought contributor. She also serves as a consumer reviewer for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP): Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP).

As a community volunteer, Marian is a Partners in Education tutor, scholarship chair for the D.O.V.E. Fund, and member of the Toledo Dementia Coalition.

She enjoys off the beaten path travel, photography, reading, and teaching culinary skills to pre-teens.
